Little Girls and Cameras

Little girls have a magic all their own...

Lately, I've been very busy with work. Add in my usual dilemma a.k.a writer's block, it's been more than a week since I last posted here. I've also been trying to self-learn HTML. Now behold the fruit of my labor. *drum roll please* I've finally added the media and content buttons! Yay! (If you don't know what I mean, see the pink, purple and yellow buttons on the right side of your screen.) As a new resident of the blogosphere, this is really an achievement for me. I'm no programmer or web designer plus my Photoshop skills are only limited to those I gained from my curiosity. So as a celebratory gift I'm treating myself with some chocolate. Ice cream would've been better but I'll deal with what's available. Haha. Okay I'll cut this portion now. I don't want to bore you with the technical stuff. Let's proceed...

I've been raking my brain for something to write about. I didn't have any new experiences. I haven't accomplished any crafts lately. I haven't seen a new movie nor have I read a new book. As for cooking, there's not much on the fridge so there was really nothing to work with. Bored, I decided to go through some old pictures and I found these photos of my niece Eliana or Yana, as what we would often call her.

It was Christmas eve around two years ago when my cousin, aunt and niece decided to spend Christmas with us. Yana was only two years old that time. Even then, she already loved posing for the camera. We took shots here and there from the garden, the living room, the bedrooms and practically every other room in the house. Well, except for the bathroom.

She was this cute little girl who talks a lot about random stuff, sings the first song that comes to her mind, asks nonstop questions, loves making pillow towers and is always full of energy.   She's like a battery that never wears out. Add to that list her amazing iPhone skills. She uses one as if she were an adult! I've always liked kids and she's my very first niece. I love her to death!

Based on experience, I can always manage to stay up late or until the chickens begin to crow as morning sunshine begins to peek in. And besides, it was Christmas eve. Our family never sleeps on the twenty fourth of December! With all the adrenaline from the cooking and the excitement of seeing the presents under the tree, sleeping is practically a crime. That night however was an exception. After playing with Yana for the whole day, my sister and I got all worn out that we fell asleep while watching a movie with her. The weirdest thing was, she didn't take the slightest snooze at all. She was still jumping up and down and running all over the place with that same vibrant energy. How did she do that? Maybe it's something she eats? Haha.

A year ago, their family moved to Norway. I haven't seen her then and I miss her so much. I miss her calling me Tita Bing. I miss her smiles and her cute giggles. I miss her sweet kisses against my cheeks and her tight hugs. I miss my model! No one poses for me anymore. She was this magical little princess who can brighten up my mood all the time. I wish to see her soon so I guess I'd buy a lottery ticket, hit the jackpot, get my passport, board a plane and... VELKOMMEN TIL NORGE! (that means Welcome to Norway according to Google. Haha!)

Here are more of her pictures. Or should I say pictorials? By the way, sorry for the crappy editing. I was only starting to learn Photoshop back then... 2011 feels so far away. I'm getting old. Gah!

Isn't she adorable? Here are two more pictures we took by the garden. She randomly grabbed a plant and started projecting!
