BeautyMNL: Makeup in a Jiffy + Maybelline Haul

Shopping is a delight but one has to admit that it's not all pretty. Long queues at the counter, the flock of people at this time of the year and not to mention the catastrophe that is traffic, it can get ugly. Then there's online shopping. It sounds great and the lure is too good to resist but truth be told not all experiences are delightful. Think of counterfeit products or delivery that takes ages (or is twice more expensive than the product itself). This prompted me to be extra cautious when it comes to the sites I buy from. Actually, I tend to avoid shopping online as much as I could. That is until I discovered BeautyMNL.

Sorcery or not, this classic makeup look is timeless beyond measure. Since the holidays are upon us (aka parties and family gatherings), here's a glammed up version that'll make you smolder and sparkle like the firework you are! You wouldn't want to look passé, "loshang" or "haggard", do you? Come on. What if you bump into your crush? 

A Flawless Summer

Are you ready to hit the beach and get sand on your feet? Or perhaps go on a hike, breathe fresh air and be one with nature? In a tropical country like the Philippines, it's pretty much summer all year round. The sun is beaming on most days which makes for a perfect tropical island getaway.  There are 7,107 islands in the country so I'm pretty sure you'll be doing a lot of "Eat-Splash-Explore-Sleep-Repeat" while sipping piña coladas or fresh coconut juice. Yum!

Yes you! That's right. I'm talking to you. Please don't make me wave my arms in exasperation. There's no need to deny that YOU are beautiful. It is quite true that society has shaped up much of what people today see as beauty. What may be considered as such today may not be what was once true years back or in the days to come. Think about it. Decades ago the one stroke thin eyebrow was all the craze. Today, it's about rocking those bold brow ala Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins or the Olsen Twins. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is subjective. It can change. But of course that only pertains to the physical. We should never forget about what's inside, what's behind all that make-up and  all those pretty clothes. We can all buy those but character and personality are priceless.

Blo Blow Dry Bar {Manila Travel Diary 2}

Blo Out (noun): a styling session or act of getting blo-wn out. That was exactly what I got when I visited Blo Blow Dry Bar's Rockwell Branch late last month. It was around July of 2013 when I won some hot pink Blo gift certificates thanks to Tricia Gosingtian. It got me all hyped up but alas I live in Cebu and all the branches are in Manila. I thought I'd never get to use them but an opportunity came up. *ahem* Dinner date with Camille Co *ahem*. Mind you, this blow dry bar that originated in North America is famous for hair styling services. It's dubbed as an affordable catwalk-quality bar for the modern woman.

Fix Broken Make-up

My mom and I recently went out for grocery. It was necessary as our fridge was begging for food! Besides, I consider it our mother-daughter bonding moment. We both find it a relaxing errand but when it's time to pay that's another story. Ha! Then of course before leaving the house a girl has to prep up. As I opened my make-up pouch to get my powder and blush... BAM! There it was all covered up in red powder. Somehow, my blush got broken and managed to create a mess. Argh! Now I've got a broken make-up and a whole pouch to clean. Worse, it was one of my favorite blushes. *sob* Luckily, Michelle Phan has recently uploaded a video on how to address such dilemma...

Lucido-L: Goodbye Bad Hair Day!

Time and again we've heard that old familiar quote saying that "A lady's hair is her crowning glory." Sadly, with all the hustles and bustles of everyday living, our hair can get damaged resulting to unwanted bad hair days. And apart from that, I believe thick and sleek hair wasn't built into my DNA. I have to blow dry my locks or else they'd stick out like nuts. Even as a kid my hair was really thin and I had to constantly make an effort to add volume to it. I have been envying my best friend for the longest time now. She's got the most amazing hair in the world! She hasn't even gone to the salon to have it treated or anything.  Ever! Oh well, envy me.
