Best Friend

Short Story: Best Friend | Anne's Scribbles and Doodles
His heart was hammering in his rib cage like a shaken up soda wanting to burst out of its can. "I think I like you." He said. His voice trembled but not without the intensity that his courage could muster.

Blue Jersey

Blue Jersey by Anne Macachor | Anne's Scribbles and Doodles | Weightlifting Fairy Haneol Sports University Varsity Jacket
Out of the blue, I dreamt of you.
What could it be? A vision maybe?
It was all a blur. It feels slightly obscure.
I remember a jersey. It was all I could see.

To My Unnamed Prince Charming

To My Unnamed Prince Charming by Anne Macachor
I've written too many rhymes and verses for a face I haven't seen. How do you do it? You’ve managed to visit me in my dreams. Through faint cracks within my boring humdrum days, you’ve seeped through my senses down to the very core bringing light into the overcast.

To the Guy I First Loved

To the Guy I First Loved by Anne Macachor | Anne's Scribbles and Doodles
Dear first love. There’s something about the rain that reminds me of you.

Its gentle pitter-patter against my bedroom window brings me back to how I used to sneak out of our house just to spend a night with you at the park. You’d be in your usual graphic tee with that snapback worn backwards and a smile across your lips. You’d bring a bag of fries and we’d talk endlessly about random things until the sky shows faint cracks of light and we’d hurriedly head back hoping nobody noticed our little crime.

P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You by Anne Macachor | Anne's Scribbles and Doodles
We were best of friends. Past tense. But before you wrap your mind about this being one of those sad stories, let me tell you otherwise.

#MayForever Nga Ba? (Does Forever Exist?)

While eating a piece of chicken wing, my eyes darted across the room. The Filipino-Chinese fast food chain was packed to the brim and noise filled the air, a muffled mixture of chatter, cashier register clicks and silverware clinks.

But amidst all the chaos, three tables caught my attention: one by the door, the other by my side and the last nearest the counter. In each one, a couple sat with their graying hair stark amidst the bright hued interiors. "Look. they're dating." I whispered to my mom. "How cute."

To that Stranger Who Stole My Book

To that Stranger Who Stole My Book by Anne Macachor
I’m a nerd as geeky as can be. With verses and words, I squeal with glee. Books are friends to me. Despite my peculiarity, they do not flee. So I went out one day, off to the bookstore with hardbacks on display. Inside I went and immediately I sense, the scent of stories quickly descend.

Hey There Tiny Pea!

Hey there Tiny Pea!
We shall call you Riley.
Soon on the blog,
Will be a purple googly blob!

Bittersweet Cookies

I baked cookies for her one day,
But then it all got burnt away.
So I brought the cookies out to throw,
But then she snatched them all up to stow.

To that Guy in My Dream

To that Guy in My Dream
Peacefully and happily asleep, I get lost in the world of dreams. Down and deeper I go as the clock ticked away, fully aware that what was once today has now become a bygone and a yesterday.

To the Girl Who Ran Away

To the Girl Who Ran Away
Running away comes with a stigma. People shun it. Many look down upon it. Most often than not, it is unwelcomed, suppressed and muffled. But here’s to that girl who decided to pack her bags and leave or to that someone who left everything in sheer abandon. It’s okay.

Daydreamer {Scribbled Poetry}

The smell of freshly mown grass,
A firmament of well lit stars.
Barefoot on a night so cool,
With frogs croaking by a nearby pool.

Mail This To Heaven {Scribbled Poetry}

How do you send greetings to heaven?
Do you roll it up and tie it to a balloon?
Or do you whisper it to the air and let it fly?
I want to know because I want to send some to you.

Dearest Chummy {Scribbled Poetry}

You put a genuine smile on my lips
Whenever my sadness switch flips
You hug me by my shoulders and waist
Whenever I felt rainbows were put to waste

Innocent Frost {Scribbled Poetry}

With blush on her cheeks and a smile on her lips,
Off she jumps along and sings a song.
“Let it go, let it go.”
She hums to the tune of Disney‘s toon.

Love, Sweet and True [Part 2]

Short Story: Love, Sweet and True

Click here to read part one.

Hey guys! Sorry for being such a meanie and for leaving you hanging on. Peace! Don't worry I won't give you any spoilers as I continue to ramble (or write) my thoughts here. So have you got some ideas on how this tale's going to end? Let's see if those thoughts match the ending... Now, on to the story!

Love, Sweet and True [Part 1]

Short Story: Love, Sweet and True
One of the things that inspired me to apply for the school paper (again and again and again and again) during my high school days was this short story. I was a very big fan of the publication that I made it a point to collect every year's issue. Technically this story was published in the year 2003 back when I was only ten years old. I rediscovered it out of my collection when I was already fourteen. I guess the delay was due to the fact that my mind wasn't ready to grasp love stories as a kid yet. Ha!

The Salty Coffee

Short Story: The Salty Coffee
Happy Sunday everyone! It is exactly 12:10 in the morning as I'm writing this. I know, I have a very messed up body clock. Blame my preference for reading novels and blogs at this time of the day! So as I was trying to clean up my computer files, I found this short story which my friend sent me way back high school. She told me she found it over the internet. I think I was around fourteen around then. Oh wow, that's six years from today. Time flies! We even edited out some parts as we made a comic strip about it. Unfortunately  that comic strip is nowhere to be found. Anyway, this story was just so heartwarming. It's simple but very inspirational. I really liked it and I hope you guys will like it too...

A Fairytale: The BonGeeJaKiAnnChoiDurRia Story

This is a piece I wrote for a contest in our university. It's about how my friends and I found each other and how we managed to keep our ties stronger. Winning the competition was really memorable and probably one of the highlights of my university experience.

We’ve travelled different routes.
We’ve paved different paths.

We’ve battled different foes.
We’ve relished different joys.

We began with once upon a time.
We will end with our heartbeats in rhyme.

My Biopoem {Scribbled Poetry}

Here's something I've written way back high school. It's kind of memorable because it gave me the courage to pursue something I've always wanted. Thanks Mdm. Gallur. I'll forever be indebted to you.

Anne

She is an ingenious writer and an avid reader, moody in times of depression and defensive of everything that concerns her family.

The daughter of the lovely Mrs. Lourdes Macachor and the witty Mr. Romell Macachor who accompanies thy lady in times of trials and destructions.

Lover of bewildering magic, the dashing mystiques of nature and the comical beings.

Who feels befuddled of the world and its mysteries, gratified of the love she receives and blissful for her family’s astounding support.

Who needs affection, something every man desires; protection, the kind born out of love and courage, a test of wits and bravery.

Who gives a rhythmic hymn that enlightens the heart, a mysterious smile that confuses the mind and a piercing look that endangers the spirit.

Who fears death and its consequences, seclusion and the loneliness it brings, ghastliness and everything fearful that pounds on the heart.

Who would like to see the beaming lights of Paris, the depths of the Caribbean and the height of the pyramids.

Resident of Budlaan, where flowers bloomed and trees tower like giants.

ABOUT "SCRIBBLED POETRY"
I make up stories in my head. I'm a dreamer and sometimes perhaps a lunatic. Writing keeps me sane and while I'm no New York Times Best Seller (yet), I'd love to call myself an author. This blog serves as my digital manuscript. I've kept countless poems, stories and whimsical thoughts for years but never got to share them publicly for fear that people would steal them and take the credit. (Which someone already did by the way! If you're planning to do the same then scoot. I can track you down like a bloodhound.) But it would likewise be a pain to keep them for myself. I'd love for people to enjoy them as I did writing them. — Anne Macachor
