Tomo Cafe = An Oishii and Kawaii Delight

Tomo Cafe
Thanks to the patient-eating sweat-inducing butt-numbing traffic jam I experience on a daily basis, I noticed this newly opened Japanese inspired place called Tomo Cafe. Yes, I'm actually thanking Mr. Traffic. High five! After lusting over it for weeks now, I finally got to experience their oishii dishes and kawaii wonderland! (Oishii is delicious while kawaii means cute in Japanese. I have to thank my Japan and anime obsessed friend for these words in my vocabulary.)

Tomo Cafe
When you step right in, the first thing you'd notice would be this terrace-like space and the poles with the flags hung on them. That's One Piece right there. There were house banners too! One each for Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and my very own house Ravenclaw. Have I told you I'm a big Potterhead? This place is a haven for avid anime, comic, cosplay and book fans.

Tomo Cafe
Oh yes, we couldn't help but do a mini photo-shoot. Trust me, you will too once you visit.

My dear friend Floriebelle ordered the limited edition Matcha Milkshake with Green Tea Kitkat while waiting for our other friends to arrive. It's so Instagram-able that I had to stop her from sipping to take a picture! She loves me so much so she obliged anyway. LOL.

Meet two of my closest high school buddies! That's Floriebelle (or Bimbim as what I like to call her) in the middle and Rose on the right. I'd like to thank my sister for taking this "squeezing-by-the-swing" shot. I just love it and all the more in black and white.

We ordered milkshakes too! I got the Cookies and Cream and my sister got Caramel. If you're sweet toothed like us, I highly suggest these.

Tomo Cafe
Since we enjoyed ourselves too much we overstayed until dinner. Actually it was way past dinner! Oops. So we ordered the rice dishes called the Omurice and the Omerizu. If you prefer sweet and sour dishes then definitely go for the Omurice but if you're like me who loves her spicy food then the Omerizu will excite your taste buds! These dishes are so tummy-filling that we had no more space for dessert which makes me sad somehow because I love my sweets. At least I'd have all the more reasons to come back.

Sadly, my camera sucks at yellow lighting and evening shots so I didn't get to take photos of all our food. I even didn't get to have a picture with their waiters and waitresses donning maid and butler costumes. Actually I was just too shy to ask because it was a busy day and they were serving many customers. *cry* So to compensate here is Tomo Cafe's complete menu!

The place looks even more charming at night under the stars. I badly wanted to plop unto the grass and lie on my back. Talk about cozy! The garden/outdoor space was so lovely that we decided to head out and play some Jenga!

You can do so much at Tomo Cafe aside from eat, chitchat and hang out. You can watch some anime or play more board games like Monopoly, Word Factory, Icebreaker, Chatpack and Jenga. But if you are more adventurous you can try Twister! They have an area in the garden where you can play. All of these are free for use. Yes you've read that right. Free. The food, cozy interiors, beautiful garden and available activities will make you stay longer than you intended to. Overall I love my experience and my food babies got happy (but a little disappointed because they weren't able to eat dessert because they're at the point of bursting already).

Tomo Cafe
Allow me to end this post with Lucille and Rose playing pretend. Awww my friends look so cute. Forgive our childlike musings and playtime. We haven't outgrown our inner Peter Pan.

Tomo Cafe is located at 86 Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue, Nasipit, Talamban. If you're coming from the city it's a few meters after the University of San Carlos and Family Park. It's the property with the white gate near the Jonas Borces Salon. If you're confused simply use Google Map or the Waze app. They are open daily from 10:00 am - 1:00 am. You can contact them through their Facebook page, by email at castamone.concepts(at)gmail(dot)com or call 09175662005,  09173233450 and 09436120100.
