Merry Christmas

There is so much buzz and cooking happening around me right now as Christmas Eve nears. In fact I'm in the middle of making photo booth props for our family reunion tomorrow but I can't let this day go by without greeting all my lovely readers a wonderful and Merry Christmas. This blog has been a wonderful part of my life and It holds a special place in my heart as much as you guys do. Thank you for making all this worthwhile. But before I get up and take a taste test of the dishes I smell simmering in the kitchen, allow me to share a short and heartwarming story that was shared by one of my teachers in elementary. After all, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and we have to greet him a happy birthday too! Let us not forget that. Now, here goes the tale...

---
Jesus and Satan had an argument as to who was the better computer programmer. Eventually they agreed to hold a contest with God as the judge.

They set themselves before their computers and begun. They typed furiously for several hours; lines of code streaming up the screen. Seconds before the end of the competition a bolt of lightning strikes and takes out the electricity. Moments later, the power is restored and God announces that the contest is over. He asks Satan to show what he has come up with.

Satan is visibly upset and cries, "I have nothing! I lost it all when the power went out."

"Very well, then," says God, "let us see if Jesus fared any better."

Jesus enters a command and the screen comes to life in vivid display. The voices of an angelic choir poured forth from the speakers. Satan is astonished. He stutters, "But how? I lost everything. How can Jesus' program be intact?"

God chuckles and says, "Ah – because Jesus saves."

Enjoy the holidays everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!

In India we use rice krispies to make a salty and spicy snack know as "Bhelpuri" . We also make a sweet one with honey and jaggery as an binding agent. But I will like to try out this recipe. It looks so delicious.. :)
