STEP 1: Grab your chosen frame. You can pretty much use any type. We wanted an organic earthly vibe so we chose to buy a frame with a brown wooden finish to match the twigs.
STEP 2: Gather some twigs and branches. I suggest grabbing those that are really sturdy and with loads of intertwining parts for a better finish. If you are using a different colored frame (e.g. purple, black, white, blue, etc), you can paint the twigs to match the frame's hue.
STEP 4: Cut horizontal strips of fabric. The big blooms were 12 x 3.50 inches while the small ones were 6 x 1 inches. Fold them width-wise and cut curved or pointed edges for the petals. Using some thread and needle, sew a running stitch near the edge of the strip's straight side. Once you've reached the end, start pulling the thread so that the cloth begins to coil up. Close up the stitch and glue a bead or button on top to hide the stitches. You can always use store bought flowers but we chose to wing it to the very end.
STEP 5: With some beads and thread, create other details as per your liking. You may also add some personalized accents to it. Add any other finishing touches and we're done!
What do you think? I personally like customizing things. It makes them extra special and unique. Plus, a DIY gift adds in a spoonful of thoughtfulness. Would you agree? So, do you have any other ways of jazzing up picture frames? Share your thoughts and ideas below.
PS: I'm sorry for going on blogger hiatus over the holidays. I went on a two week vacation and I'm back with loads of posts to share. See you around and Happy New Year!

Thank you Tracy! Send me a picture of it will you? :)
Cute! I'll have to wait until May to do this since every tree and flower is dead in Alaska. haha
I guess living in the tropics has its perks. We've got greens all year round. But you can always use the twigs they sell at the home decors section of your local department store. Don't forget to send me a photo so I can see your project Shayne! :)
STUNNING!! SO cute!
