Innocent Frost {Scribbled Poetry}

With blush on her cheeks and a smile on her lips,

Off she jumps along and sings a song.

“Let it go, let it go.”

She hums to the tune of Disney‘s toon.

From a teal dress and white stockings that impress,

She puts on her bright blue frock that shines like a crystal rock.

“Do you know why Elsa’s a Queen?” she asks with eyes excited and keen.

“Why?” We blurt out. Amused of her cuteness, that’s no doubt.

“She wears a crown.” She giggles in her gown.

A little tiara on top of her head, to the festivities she is led.

“Let’s go Yana.” We said.  “I’m not Yana.” She pled.  

“I’m Yana Queen Elsa!” Click, goes my camera.

This poem was inspired by my cute niece Yana who celebrated her 5th birthday last week in a Frozen themed party. Mind you she knows all the songs by heart! They'll soon be flying back to Norway and somehow writing this little poem is my consolation and happy pill before bidding this darling lady goodbye. Writing this poem makes me realize how much I missed poetry. I used to do this before but my busy days have somehow managed to blur my time for it but that should change now. I decided I'd add another series to this blog I'd call Scribbled Poetry for those days when a little poem pokes its head while I'm dreaming in my bed!

ABOUT "SCRIBBLED POETRY" I make up stories in my head. I'm a dreamer and sometimes perhaps a lunatic. Writing keeps me sane and while I'm no New York Times Best Seller (yet), I'd love to call myself an author. This blog serves as my digital manuscript. I've kept countless poems, stories and whimsical thoughts for years but never got to share them publicly for fear that people would steal them and take the credit. (Which someone already did by the way! If you're planning to do the same then scoot. I can track you down like a bloodhound.) But it would likewise be a pain to keep them for myself.
