Stronger {Thoughtful Thursday #8}

You are stronger than you think.
Have you ever had those days when you feel like talking to yourself? I know it sounds cray-cray but I kind of like talking to myself. It's weird but in one way or another I find it therapeutic just like writing in a diary.

Dearest Anne,

Sometimes life smacks you with all sorts of trials. In time you learn how to train yourself and feel numb from the pain. But as Augustus Waters said pain demands to be felt. You may get used to it but the fact remains that it hurts you. You bleed inside. It wounds you and leaves scars. But then again trials were not meant to destroy. Instead they were meant to build, to teach, to inspire, to strengthen and to enlighten. You gain from them only if you know how to do so. Trials also allow you to see better in all sorts of perspectives. It makes you kinder and stronger. It allows you to cherish the most important things and forego those that aren't.

Many people succumb to negativity and see pain as something that only obliterates. If you're strong enough, you'll realize that there is so much to gain from it. Besides, it's been more than a decade and a half. You survived and you keep on surviving. You've learned a lot despite of the silent tears. You are stronger than you think. You are stronger than what you appear to be. As a famous adage says "You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option." You have been nothing but strong despite everything so cheer up. There is hope. There are miracles. There is still time. Smile it will do you wonders.

From yourself.

Have you ever had moments like this when you feel all melodramatic and stuff? Sorry about the sappiness. I was feeling a little down lately and as usual writing is my favorite therapy.

You're so right - we're always going to have situations that aren't great but it's how we respond that counts. I'm a firm believer that you can always make good out of a bad situation. The best piece of advice that I was given was not to waste energy and stress about the things that you can't control, but to put your energies into the things that can be controlled :) Love that photo :)

I totally agree, haha I'm glad I'm not the only one! It really helps weed out the bad thoughts to concentrate on the positive and also more realistic thoughts.
